December Questions And Answers With Ravi & Ana
According to Yoga, when the sun is between the angles of 60 degrees above and below the horizon it affects the earths magnetic field as well as what could be termed the magnetic field of our own psyches. This invariably causes a dip in our energy and outlook. Its no accident that "Happy Hour" occurs at this time. This represents most peoples mundane method to uplift themselves. Because every dark cloud has a silver lining, these twilight times provide an opportunity for powerful inner growth and healing. If we can find a way to meditate between 4 and 7 AM and 4 and 7 PM we can make much progress in our inner growth.  Also, the lung meridians are most open around 5AM so the benefits of breathing at that time are enhanced.

September Questions And Answers With Ravi & Ana
Kundalini Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, we feel, are very complimentary. They both make use of Hatha Yoga poses but are decidedly more dynamic. Ashtanga uses body weight for strengthening and balance and consists of a few routines with variations. Kundalini Yoga also works on strength and balance, as well as endurance, the nervous and glandular systems, releasing the spine and connective tissue, and opening up energy flows in the body. If you would like to combine these systems we suggest that you begin with your Ashtanga workout and then end with a Kundalini Yoga set and/or meditation.

August Questions And Answers With Ravi & Ana
The mantra at the end of Ultimate Stretch can be done in any context. It is a very sacred mantra in the Sikh tradition, for miracles of healing and grace and world peace. Normally we advise that people stay still when they meditate, so the energy can move, but in the case of mantras, swaying is okay, because there is a devotional / emotional component which adds to the power of the chant. We wish you continuing good luck with your yoga practice.

July Questions & Answers with Ravi & Ana
There are many scare stories about Kundalini. Please be assured that these refer to Kundalini Energy and not Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini Yoga is designed to gently and consistently strengthen the nervous and glandular system and never let you acquire any more energy then your system can handle. Thus you are assured through your practice of having a graceful and effective life.

June Questions And Answers With Ravi & Ana
Stiff muscles can occur from a variety of causes. For example, when we're sick the fascia (connective tissue) contracts. Stress, tension, and time also cause the fascia to contract. It is not actually age that makes us stiff (check out a gym class of average 17 year olds!) but what we do or don't do as we age that affects our flexibility. When we don't spend some time stretching, our bodies quickly become used to a more limited range of motion--especially if we spend a lot of time sitting in chairs or driving. This causes our core muscle to contract, and since flexibility starts at the core, it affects us all over.

May Questions & Answers With Ravi Singh & Ana Brett
Many of you are newcomers to Kundalini Yoga and have expressed interest in its origins and process. Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness because it serves as the catalyst for the insight and inspiration which help us to heal and expand. In Kundalini Yoga the bottom line is what works. What does work, more quickly and powerfully, than just about anything, is a combination of breath, movement, and poses, along with the science of sequence, rhythm, and vibratory effect.

April Questions & Answers with Ravi Singh & Ana Brett
What Kundalini actually does is make us more us, which manifests as the health and focused creativity which is our birthright. What pulls us away from our practice is our previous conditioning, our mind's habit of looking outward for fulfillment. People feel that before they can settle down and be true to themselves, they have to get that one thing first, a bigger house, fame, their soul mate, six pack abs etc. The irony is that when we look inside and stay true to who we are, blessings come to us.

March's Questions Answered By Ravi Singh & Ana Brett
The chanting in Kundalini Yoga uses a language called Gurmukhi, which is an updated version of Sanskrit, and which exists in the context of the Sikh Tradition. The mantras we use have an objective effect, which is to raise one's awareness and tune oneself to a higher frequency, in the interest of health and happiness, individually and collectively...As with the other aspect of Kundalini Yoga, which may seem very strange at first, the bottom line is always what works.

Q & A With Ravi Singh & Ana Brett
Fear is a defense mechanism which manifests, when we are confronted by the unknown. We perceive a lack of control, resources, sustenance, or love. Ultimately all fears are extensions of the fear of death, which is the ultimate unknown. Many people live off  the energy others, or rely on artificial means to get energy, i.e., coffee, alcohol, and sugar. Reliance on anything creates a constant state of fear.  When we forge a relationship with the breath we have the means to live off our own energy, and to constantly regenerate...Where there is energy, there can be no fear.

New Year Kundalini Question & Answer
One thing we encourage, whether you choose to cook or un-cook, is to opt for 100% organic ingredients.  Our nervous systems and livers, etc., are not meant to withstand the onslaught of pesticides and heavy metals which have found their way onto and into our produce! Bottom line: You will always get longer lasting results if you institute healthy changes over the long haul.

Shake Your Chakras
Once we feel balance we can let go of control. When we dance we allow ourselves to feel what off balance is like. This is the dance of life, falling and falling again. When we accept this pattern of falling and catching ourselves, then we are in accord with the natural pattern of life's ebb and flow. It is very freeing to let oneself go. There is abundant joy in being grounded and centered and in allowing ourselves to be vulnerable enough to fall and fall again, confident that we will find our equilibrium in the face of uncertainty.

Dance: The Hidden Language of the Soul
The Dance the Chakras concept is in the true spirit of the Kundalini Yoga and Tantric traditions where the bottom line is always what works.  Yoga means to join. Yoke. Tantra means to weave. Through these practices we can experience the dance of life and existence, past and present, and connect to the deep places within ourselves that we have no words to express.
