Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine and finished his training in family medicine and in psychiatry at the University of Vermont. He is currently Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry at the University Of Saskatchewan College Of Medicine, in Canada, and is also Director of their newly evolving Centre for Aboriginal Health and Healing.

He is the author of 4 books, entitled Coyote Medicine (1998), Coyote Healing (2003), & Coyote Wisdom (2005), as well as the editor of a textbook on integrative approaches to anxiety and depression which will be appearing in 2007.

In this Podcast Dr. Mehl-Madrona discusses with Merryn Jose the healing benefits of story telling and how he incorporates it into his medical practice.

Dr.Lewis Mehl-Madrona holds an M.D. from Stanford University and has been a practicing doctor for over 20 years. An experienced physician who has been involved in many Native American healing ceremonies, Mehl-Madrona has also headed traditional medical clinics, helping AIDS and cancer patients as well as researching the benefits of relaxation techniques to aid in the natural correction of breech positioned babies.
