Remembering Carl Casella, sound editor and friend

It’s with great sadness that we report the death of our dear friend and sound editor, Carl Casella. Carl was a sound designer at Sound Designs in NYC, and had a brilliant award-winning career working on and off Broadway on productions such as A Night With Janis Joplin, Relatively Speaking, Sly Fox, Little Shop of Horrors, and others.

In his work at Merlian News, Carl edited over eighty of our podcasts, inserting his own special brand of love and humor into the process, and lighting up the office with his wonderful stories of behind the scenes adventures in the world of “The Performing Arts.” Beyond his great technical ability as a sound editor, Carl had a real interest in the people and subject matter of our interviews, in fields such as spirituality, the mind-body connection, near death experiences, and more. He really listened and used what he learned to create a better podcast. He will be sorely missed and we send his family our condolences and love.
