Help Your Eyes on the Computer by Marc Grossman, OD, LAc

As we head towards spring, I look forward to moving past the darkness of the pandemic. Like you, I’ve had to adapt in many ways. I’ve found myself spending a lot more time on screens than ever before. Not coincidentally, a growing number of my patients have reported symptoms related to their increased use of screens, too. Not only is the use of modern electronic devices responsible for degenerative ailments of the eyes, but also muscular strain in the neck and shoulder region, disruption of natural sleep cycles, and ultimately the degradation of your immune system’s resiliency.

The issue is extensive. And, there is something you can do about it.

In collaboration with Daniel Orlansky, my dear friend and accomplished yoga teacher for over 30 years, we have created a unique set of simple exercises and easy-to-use practices that can help reverse these deleterious effects on your eyes, as well as your body. Our program has been designed using a combination of Eastern and Western approaches including yoga, meditation, and targeted vision-improvement techniques such as Chinese eye massage, the Bates Method, and other gentle practices to relax the eyes and lessen visual stress.

I know it may seem antithetical to offer a video course for combating computer eyestrain, but once you’ve learned the practices and techniques, you will be able to do these on your own, away from your screens, and incorporate them into other daily health routines. To learn more about the program, please visit our website at https://advancedvisionsupport.com.

If you are spending over an hour on computer screens and cell phones, I also recommend wearing glasses that filter out the Blue Light. If you are looking for quality Blue Light filtering glasses, I strongly suggest you check out this company called Pixel.  They have made a difference for my family and me. https://www.pixeleyewear.com/?ref=39Wq5SaHnUVij
