Mirabai of Woodstock, NY

I regularly visit Woodstock, NY, a town I love, and one of my first stops is always to Mirabai, my favorite bookstore. It is located in the heart of Woodstock, just across from the Bread Alone Bakery. The staff are so helpful and friendly, and I love it when I get to catch up with the owner, Audrey Cusson. She is a treat, with an enthusiastic and sparkling personality that makes me want to spend hours in her treasure trove.

The store carries an amazing array of books devoted to inspiration, transformation and healing, as well as Himalayan salt lamps, World Music,  exquisite statuary and jewelry from Asia and the South Seas, crystals from Brazil and beyond, incense from India, meditation and yoga supplies, and more. There is a wonderful children’s section that is worth exploring. They also hold a variety of workshops and offer psychic readings as well.

Mirabai of Woodstock was founded as Mirabai Books in 1987 in the town of Woodstock, NY by Anne Roberts. After years of service to the community, Anne has departed Woodstock for the mountains of Vermont. Mirabai’s new owners, Jeff Cuiule and Audrey Cusson, moved up from New York City seeking a simpler, more meaningful way of life in the tranquil countryside of Woodstock. They are dedicated to carrying on the store’s mission — to provide spiritual and holistic knowledge and guidance to individuals trying to improve their lives and the world they live in.
