Wayne Dyer, Author and Motivational Speaker, Dies at Age 75
Wayne Dyer, the American self-help author and motivational speaker, just died at the age of 75. His first book, “Your Erroneous Zones,” is one of the best-selling books of all time, with an estimated 35 million copies sold. Dyer, had successfully recovered from leukemia with the help of Brazilian healer, John of God, in 2009. He had just finished an Australian speaking tour and, according to his longtime assistant, died peacefully in his sleep.
His family made the announcement on social media, writing, ” Wayne has left his body, passing away through the night. He always said he couldn’t wait for this next adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant will enjoy the other side. … We Love You Forever Dad/Wayne.”
Dyer was accompanied on his latest tour by Anita Moorjani, author of “Dying to Be Me,” and an internationally renowned speaker about her own and other’s near death experiences. Moorjani sent out an email describing how Dyer had heard her story and helped her to get published and launch her career. Over the years he had turned into a cherished friend and mentor. In her newsletter she writes,
“Although I know, probably better than most, that Wayne is having a grand time where he is now, laughing and dancing in pure joy, and that he is bathed in the overwhelming feelings of unconditional love, free from pain, free from expectations, free to expand and transcend, I am still grieving! I am not grieving for him. I envy him, because I know where he is and what he is experiencing. I am grieving for myself, and for his lovely family, and for everyone else who knew him and loved him and who will miss his physical presence in their lives; miss his warmth, his kindness, his generosity, his smile, his sense of humor, his huge embrace, his laughter and his voice. There are probably hundreds of thousands…maybe millions…of people who loved him.”
