Tea with Miriam
I’m not sure how it first came about, but several of my students/friends and I always celebrate special times at the T Salon. It has a relaxed, inviting atmosphere decorated with antique Buddhas benevolently giving us their blessings — blessings which bring a sense of belonging and uniqueness to this special place with its Asian and celestial flair. We are always assured of a big welcome from Miriam which adds to the festivities.***image2***
To quote Miriam:
“The triangle, the magical number 3, symbolizes graces, descending from Heaven, Past, Present, Future, Mind, Body and Spirit. Tea, faith and time have been closely associated for centuries. Taking time provides a precious time out from a busy schedule. Allow tea and faith to elevate your spirit. Sip and enjoy a moment of heaven.”

The T Salon and T Emporium located at 134 W 26th Street in Manhattan offers a new perspective on how tea may be viewed around the world.
As you first enter into the tea salon, scarlet walls of red surround you with warmth and a welcomed feeling making it difficult to leave. Serving up her tea to everyone including the Dali Lama, owner Miriam Novalle has run the shop for over twelve years.
She creates teas for Buddhists events that are linked closely with Tricycle Magazine. Her special blends of tea can be found everywhere from the Tibet House and the Spirit Nightclub in Manhattan to far away Quaglino’s on Bury Street in London.
More recently the Salon has begun to manufacture the “Pyramid Tea Bag”. Perfect to travel with, this pyramid shaped tea bag offers loose leaf teas and nylon tea bags all kept together in a beautiful box.
The Salon not only functions as a spiritual retreat from the busy streets of New York City for tea taking, but is also the location of meditation sessions. These teas can be seen and purchased at the Tea Salon itself, at Wholefoods and at Om Yoga.
The three new locations of the T Salon will be: The Chelsea Arts Building at 134 W 26th Street 4th floor, Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Ave., and The Lincoln Theatre, 541 Lincoln Rd, Miamai Beach, FL.
