The Breath of Life by Molly Rice
The breath of life… with out it we would not be here…
We would not be.
Our beings/physical bodies are made up of the elements;
Earth, air, water and fire.
I realize I have mentioned it before, (and most likely will continue to do so, until we are all freely & deeply breathing the gift of life.) so often, folks tend to hold their breath… and yes our breath is precious; but it is not meant to be held.
Breathe in deeply and fully, see if you can feel your breath all the way down to your toes. The air we breathe is a constant gift!! Often because we have a challenging time exceptinghow truly wonderful we are, we tend to not accept our gifts… and this includes the gift of breath, breathing in deeply and really feeding all our cells.
When I was a little girl there was a hymn they used to sing at church.
And it often comes to mind when I am in the midst of a
Healing session Breathe on me breathe of God, fill me with life anew
That I may live as you live and do as you do. (a bit paraphrased)
The next time you are being still; allow the breath of God/infinite creator to fill your lungs, to fill your entire being. See if you experience a shift.
This is a powerful exercise, and when accompanied with color therapy, aroma therapy, and mediation, brings one to a deeper, clearer place of realization of all that is. Assists us in connecting with the Divine, that is already with-in our beings.
With the crisp air of the winter mornings and evenings enjoy your breath.
Enjoy breathing deeply and smelling the scents of earth, and sometimes even heaven. So it is with love I offer the following words below, for you to ponder and enjoy.
Shared from the Plum Village Chanting Book.
“Breathe and you know that you are alive.
Breathe and you know that all is helping you.
Breathe and you know that you are the world.
Breathe and you know that the flower is breathing you.
Breathe for yourself and breathe for the world.
Breathe in compassion and breathe out joy.
Breathe and be one with the air that you breathe.
Breathe and be one with the river that flows.
Breathe and be one with the earth that you tread.
Breathe and be one with the fire that glows.
Breathe and you break the thought of birth and death.
Breathe and you see impermanence is life.
Breathe for your joy to be steady and calm.
Breathe for your sorrow to flow away.
Breathe to renew every cell in your blood.
Breathe to renew the depths of consciousness.
Breathe and you dwell in the here and now.
Breathe and all you touch is new and real.
Breathe.”
